IPMIdrv.sys should not show up when driverquery I am aware I can choose to stop (disable via Device Manager) the Microsoft IPMI driver, but I really wish to uninstall it completely (the proof being that I also tried some "dirty" tricks, but they did not work as well. I also tried using DevCon.exe, but I got the same result as earlier. When I do this, I do not getĪny error message, but when the machine is rebooted, "Microsoft Generic IPMI Compliant Device" reappears. The obvious way would seem to be to start Device Manager, go to "System Devices", right-click "Microsoft Generic IPMI Compliant Device", select Properties, and on driver tab, click "Uninstall". I wish to use the Intel driver, and have tried to uninstall the Microsoft IPMI driver ( IPMI drv.sys), but all my efforts have failed so far. If both drivers are installed, resource contention problems result in unreliable operation. Several sources mention that the Microsoft IPMI driver and the Intel IPMI driver should not be loaded at the same time.
